We want you to have a safe, fun trip on the Tippy. We ask that you use common sense on your trip. Please wear some type of shoes at all times.
The banks of the Tippy are either privately owned or State Park property, so please respect the land owners property.
DO NOT LITTER ON YOUR TRIP!!
Leave trash in your canoe for us to clean out after your excursion. NO GLASS CONTAINERS are to be used on the river.
Lost Paddles are $20 each
Lost Life Vests are $10 each
Lost Canoe is your responsibility for replacement cost.
Two adults plus 1-2 small children or pet per canoe.
You will have the opportunity to see numerous birds, animals, turtles and fish on your float trip. Bald Eagles, Osprey, large Pleated Woodpeckers, Turkey, Blue Heron, Deer, Otter and Beaver may also be observed.
Everyone must sign a liability release and rental form before going on any trip. Children under the age of eighteen must have a parent or guardian’s signature, as well as their own.
Everyone must be off the water by dusk. No departures after 3pm EST.
Children under the age of eighteen must wear life jackets at all times.
Due to river flood levels or rain storms, some trips may be cancelled. Always call for river conditions.
Overnight camping is available at Rising Sun Campground. Your canoeing/kayaking experience begins here.

Anyone camping with us at Rising Sun Campground will receive a $5.00 discount off equipment and transport fees
We are located at Rising Sun Campground! 10 minutes from Tippecanoe State Park. We offer a $5 discount if camping with us.
We supply you with Canoe, Kayak, or Tube, paddles, life vest and transportation up stream to the starting point of your trip. That way you float back to your car with no time limit on your trip. We want you to enjoy the river and State Park as much as possible. It is some of the last unspoiled areas of the river.
You can rent canoes, kayaks, or tubes for the trip. Average time is 3.5 hours for the Monterey to Campground (7 miles of river) and 6.5 hours for the long trip Leiters Ford (14 miles of river). Bring a picnic lunch, stop along the way on a sand bar. . There is no time limit on your trip.
The Monterey trip is $35.00 per canoe, two paddlers and a small child or family pet is considered the limit per canoe. Single person Kayaks are $30.00 for the Monterey trip.
The longer trip is $45.00 per canoe with the same capacity. Single person Kayaks are $35.00 for the long trip.
Monterey Indiana is around 2 hours south and east of the Chicagoland area off Hwy 30, onto Hwy 35 south 20 minutes, or about 2 hours due north of the Indianapolis area, or 2 hours south and west of the Ft. Wayne area !
